End of March Update

Graysen is 19 months today! She amazes me in every way, and she is just growing up way to fast! She says please very well, she starting to say thank you for most things she receives. She even says sorry when she’s done something naughty, or made another baby cry! We haven’t had to go to time out very often but she still does it and will sit there for a full two minutes before I tell her it’s okay to come out and talk to me! She still mocks everything you say, and is learning about two words a day. She’s slowed down on reading a little bit, but can still “read” about 10-15 words.  I’m not a stickler on the program, and if I was she’d probably be doing a little better, but I think she’s doing great as is!! Her imagination is growing as well; I think Brandon and I both have started to “influence” imagination. When she was little it was hard for us to “pretend” there was tea in the cup, but now we’re both really good at that type of thing. I guess we needed to get back in touch with our younger roots! She still is on great routine, and she basically tells us when she is ready for naps and when she’s ready for bed, which is the same times every day give or day a few minutes.
She’s feeling a TON better, and is all over the stuffy nose and fever. We have also not had any issues with milk since my experiment. Since we’ve cut the milk back a little she’s been eating a lot more as well. I’m still trying to get her to try newer things vegetable wise, but that’s a long process it seems. She loves fruit at least!
I’m feeling 90% better! I’m basically back to normal except for my nose. It’s still getting stuffy, just one side though, so hopefully that goes away soon! School is going great, I have just about a month left of this semester! I’m excited for it to be over with, but that’s only because it’s closer to finding out if I got into the nursing program or not. I’m pretty positive I’m going to end this semester keeping my 4.0 so that’s also a plus!  This summer I am only taking two classes but because summer is short session that will mean I’m in class Monday through Thursday, so this will be a LONG summer I have a feeling.
Brandon is ready for his surgery. He has it Tuesday. I’m ready for it to be over with already, and I really hope everything goes smoothly. Not sure how we are going to handle the week, we just have to take it one step at a time. I might be missing some class if he’s too drugged up to take care of Graysen when he gets home from the hospital Wednesday night!
We signed our contract with the fencing company that we decided on this weekend. We are really excited for this fence. We are getting a nicer wood, a clear cedar, with a top cap on it. We will bring it around the yard as privacy and then in the back we will tapper it down to a 4 foot picket fence so I still have my creek view!  They should have it started no later than three weeks, but can be as early as next week! Pictures to come!  My flower garden is also slowly coming along. I’m not a gardener by any means so it’s just trial and error. Just really hope everything looks decent. After Brandon knee heals we decided to go ahead and tear up the front lawn to get that all fresh and new since everything else will be looking good mid-as-well get it ALL done! No more crab grass YAH! Pictures on that side coming soon too!
Due to all this yard work going on, I am getting spring fever bad!!! I went to Costco today and begged Brandon to let me get Graysen this water/sand table! I think she will LOVE it when the weather gets warmer! I also had to go to ToysRus to return a toy so I got her a little inflatable pool, some floaties, some bubbles, and a little “beach” set with the bucket and shovels! Woo I’m so excited! I just hope this weather starts to warm up!!!!! Come on APRIL!
That’s all for now! Thank you for checking in!

  1. I'm glad to hear everyone is all better And that Graysen is doing so well! Is Brandon being put under completely? I was put all the way under for my thyroid surgery and they told me I'd probably be able to go home that same afternoon...Yeah. I was in the hospital for two days and the anesthesia took FOREVER to wear off. Not to mention the effects the pain meds had on me too. (Don't know if he'll be on pain meds or not) Anyway, I didn't feel "normal" for like 4-5 days. Josh had to call into work even. I'm sure you're prepared for it but don't be surprised if he's not with it as fast as docs say if will be. Hopefully all goes well and that kind of thing won't be a problem for you guys. Good luck :)

  3. OOO that scares me!!! He is being put under completely, and they are keeping him the one night but then he comes home wednesday. And I have class that night!!! One thing I HATE about being in the military, still don't really have friends here, so we don't have anyone to come over and help out while I leave for school! I can only hope it doesn't have to bad of an affect on him! YIKES.. he's going to be on pain meds too though, so no.. this time around I'm not really prepared haha but I will just do what I gotta do! Thanks of telling me.. now maybe I'll be a little bit more prepared!! Ha!!

Cherise, thank you, and I can't wait to get pictures up of me.. I mean her playing with that stuff too haha!

  4. My dad and Eric both have had knee surgery. Eric's went smooth and his biggest problem was the pain meds he was on. He got sick a lot but recovered quickly. My dad, I was a senior in High School, was another story. He was completly useless for about a month. He couldn't even get off the couch. He ended up with an infection also which was whole another process. But he did well as long as he stayed on top of the pain meds. His and Erics biggest problems the first week was moving around since they were hooked up to machines, ice machines, knee moving mechanisms etc.

Lol so its mixed results. I hope everything goes smooth and is great. If I was close I would watch your beautiful baby.

Im glad everyone is starting to feel better too.
